Closing out 2012

Obviously I am a couple months behind on my blog, last post was when Wyatt turned one, and he is now 14 months.  A LOT has changed since his first birthday!  He is developing at a crazy fast pace and I'm sure this is normal, but definitely will catch a mama on her heels if she's not careful!  After a week of "woah-something is not working anymore"-type of realization...I spent this past weekend regrouping and getting organized for forward progress.  Toy sorting, toy rotating, drawer reorganizing, room rearranging, book sorting, book rotating, is just the beginning.  The real challenge has been in the CONTINUAL corrective strategies for my blossoming pre toddler.  This is the point in which IT GETS REAL, folks.  The resounding thought in my head is that of the Babywise books..."Begin as you mean to go..."  and That, is so important at this stage, because pre toddlers do not like to be told they cannot do something!!!  I am much more optimistic after getting recharged and motivated for what lies ahead, a lot of amazing and I'm sure challenging months!  With baby GIRL on the way, due to arrive in late May- I know things will be difficult and for a little while as we adjust to life with an 18 month old and a newborn.  I am so excited to see Wyatt's fascination with his baby sister, however.  I think he is going to be so intrigued by her. I am now 21 weeks and 3 days pregnant.  This pregnancy is flying by compared to the last one.  I don't have a minute to sit and think about it!  Praise God I have not been sick this time around, I had a little queasiness for a few weeks early on but nothing near what I experienced with Wyatt.  I am so thankful for that because I have days where I still feel very productive and energetic.  Some days my energy is beginning to fade, and I'm sure that will be the case the third trimester.  We are working on baby girl's room little by little.  It's coming along really well so far.  I will definitely post pictures when it is done!  As for now- here are the highlights of our holidays and the new year.

In early December, my wonderful husband sent me on a whirlwind two night trip to NYC with my mom and my mother in law.  We had an amazing time, and wow I was so exhausted keeping up with these two!

We ate some crazy good food and saw two broadway shows.  The Newsies, which was OUTSTANDING! And we also saw Spider-Man.  That was very cool too.   The crowds were outrageous so this is the best we could do with the tree....
Nick had his first time home with Wyatt without me!  They definitely bonded and Nick had a new realization of what it means to be a "Stay at home Mom/Dad."  I am so lucky to have a husband that is willing to work hard and make sacrifices to keep me home because he sees the value in this precious time we have while our baby/ies are young.  He took Wyatt to Busch Gardens, Cracker Barrel, and had all sorts of fun with him.  Needless to say, Nick was ready for mama to get home!

We enjoyed an evening out with all of the Hullings.  We hoped for a good Santa picture of Wyatt with his cousins Brody and Ryan, however, they are all pretty much in that phase of hating Santa pics...so I do not have any fun ones to share...

What is it with men and pictures...its like I have to beg for a smile...well Pops, this is as good as it's gonna get for this post!

Now these two peas in a pod are my favorite :)

Next up- a quick trip to Ponte Vedra to visit with the fam, celebrate my dad and Brenda's recent marriage (they eloped in Antigua, it was beautiful).  They had a lovely celebration with both of their families and we are so glad we were able to attend!  And we did our Christmas exchange with the Whitaker's, celebrated Isabelle's 5th (!!!!!!!?) Birthday, and then headed home before Christmas eve.

Thankfully we got a little cold weather up there in PV...which we have YET to see in Tampa...(81 degrees sitting here as I type...) Yes, it's January 16th...

A couple of pics from miss Thang's birthday celebration.
The boots are from yours truly...

This guy remains to be the funniest kid I've ever seen.  He is so animated and fun-loving.  Wyatt has such a great time with Curran.

Notice, they are rocking the Elmo slippers.  Thanks Mimi.  Brody and Ryan have some also- sadly I didn't have my camera with me that night so I'm waiting on pics of those three knuckle heads with the slippers on too.

Just treasure huntin' with his Christmas overalls on.  Little cutie.

New Year's Day morning we started it off right...cafe con leche's all around....not you, Wyatt...

and of course, pancakes....

Still rocking our Christmas jams and slippers, father and son.

And what a great Christmas gift, getting the news that we are expecting a baby girl in May!  It was fun surprising the family on Christmas with this news.

2013 we began nesting projects!!  Rearranged Wyatt's room to free up space for a play area, including new book ledges.  Daddy did this all on his own- I just found some directions and pictures online and he went at it.  This is the Before picture, obviously.

And this is after!  He has a little sitting area and a couple of buckets of toys.  It's cute when I hear him playing in his room from the kitchen.

Project #2  Mommy and Wyatt attempting to put together baby sister's chair.

More to come in the next couple of months....As for now, thanks for checking in with us!
Much Love,
Megs, Nick, Wyatt, and Baby in the womb.
