Wyatt just had his 9 month well check and it was great! His growth is steady and consistent, and we have had no health problems, praise the Lord! He weighed in at a whopping 19.5 lbs...which apparently isn't really that heavy for a 9 month old! Trust me, he eats! I think this little guy just is long and lean, I'm not complaining and neither is he! His skills are improving every day and he just constantly amazes me with his sweet as sugar attitude! He truly is a sweetie pie and a snuggly bug. I caught this ADORABLE picture of my little man when he gets sleepy. He's started to really love these little security blanket bears and sleeps with them during naps and at night. When he's tired he crawls over to his basket of toys and finds something snuggly, pops those two cutie fingers in his mouth and puts his head down on the bear. This is his way of telling me he's ready for a nap! What a doll baby.
He is starting to make lots of noises, bababababa, at this point is most popular, but I do catch him with the mamama's just as of the last few days. I have no idea if he knows he's referring to me but it sure does sound sweet :)
Up and away he goes with his walker. He is now venturing off onto the tile- which scared me at first because we have a huge carpeted living room that I was WAY more comfortable with...but it was inevitable! He just tends to run into the wall before anything else anyways. He is not standing on his own yet for more than 2 or 3 seconds before he falls, but he sure has been working on it.
Mama loves putting him in cool sneakers....probably because mama loves cool sneakers...a little too much.
Over the last couple of months we've made it a ritual in the Hulling household that we make either waffles or pancakes once on the weekend. I found our preferred waffle batter on amazon in a huge box, LOL, so we have plenty :) It is by Namaste foods and is dairy free, wheat free, soy free, etc. We use almond milk in the batter and add blueberries and VOILA! Delish. Wyatt absolutely loves them, either way, I think his preference is pancakes because they're easier for him to grab and shove in his cute little mouth!
OH YEAH!
Regular every day activities around the house...checking out the book shelves, dog crate, basically anything that things come on and off of, and things he can stand and hold onto. Still not walking yet, but he has definitely mastered crawling at this point and is on his way.
Oh my goodness, my little superman I can hardly even stand it. He is just the love of my life....(you too, Nick.)
Onto other things...we've been extremely busy reorganizing, redecorating, rearranging, refinishing...etc...blah blah blah, all over the house. So, we recently were given a lot of hand me down furniture, thanks to Mimi- woop! Nick rented a big ole Penske truck and drove to Ponte Vedra to pick it up one day and came home the same night...after about a week or two of mulling it over, we made some decisions. A little background for ya first...our house has 4 bedrooms, a den, a bonus room, a great room, formal living room, formal dining room, 3 baths, nook, huge kitchen, etc. Basically we are so blessed and have what feels like a huge-mongous house. Needless to say it would cost an arm and a leg to furnish so we have been collecting hand me downs for the past year and a half :) Wyatt's room is good to go- there is a bedroom connected to his (Jack and Jill style) that has been collecting a good will pile and basically just wasting space. So this room was our primary focus. MAKE IT FUNCTIONAL! Eventually we are thinking it might be Wyatt's room down the road, whenever we are blessed with another addition to the family (again...i repeat....EVENTUALLY), so we kind of took the "big boy room" approach with this project. This way we can use all the nursery furniture again....EVENTUALLY. hehe. Here's how it went.
We started with really really old wood, kind of beaten up twin beds, a dresser, and a night stand. It all looks like this. (Below). First we sanded and primed it. (Above.)
The beds we painted "Colonial Red," We thought it was a fun color, and could encourage any sort of boyish theme, or work as a cute guest room, either way! For now it is pretty plain, will work on decor. Love how it turned out though! I can see anything from good ole American cowboys, Captain America or Superman, Firetrucks and Cars, Baseball and sports of all types, who knows?! Just fun base colors.
Love his little baseball chair. It's in the corner next to a stack of books, he will be sitting in it more here pretty soon I'm sure.
Went with a navy blue on the end table and dresser.
Angle from entering the door. We might still rearrange, again, but for now at least it's all in place.
Lastly, we had a weekend visit from the Whitaker cousins, Isabelle and Curran. Fun and crazy times in this house! We braved the heat and the thunder storm at Busch Gardens, but all in it was a great day, and the crowds were really low. Erin and I rode Sheikra, and I'm pretty sure I may have pulled a muscle...yes, from FREAKING OUT! haha. You know you're getting old when you pull a muscle on a rollercoaster and almost barf when you get off.
Just a couple of shots from our time at Busch Gardens, gotta love Sesame Street Safari.
Getting geared up and ready for Auburn football season, just around the corner. Wyatt is in for a treat :)
